Film Fest Focuses on the Right

Michael Moore (search) was a no-show at the first-ever conservative film festival held outside Dallas last weekend.

The liberal moviemaker's absence is not a surprise since the film that earned a two-minute standing ovation was the world premiere of a documentary titled, "Michael Moore Hates America."

There were 24 conservative-minded films screened at the three-day American Film Renaissance Festival (search) in the Dallas suburb of Addison, Texas. Movies included "George W. Bush: Faith in the White House," "DC 9/11: Time of Crisis" and "The Peace Commies," which addresses "subversive radicals behind the peace movement."

"We make no bones about the fact that we are a conservative film festival," said the festival's organizer Ellen Hubbard (search). "Do I think that only conservative films should be made? Absolutely not. But right now there is no other film festival out there that has films like we do."

Without a doubt the anti-Moore movie was the biggest draw at the festival. In it, director Michael Wilson (search) mocks Moore while traveling around the country showcasing regular people who are living their American dreams, all while trying to get an interview with Moore, which he never does.

Do I think that only conservative films should be made? Absolutely not.

Personally, I would have no problem with only the right represented. Error, lies and treason do not deserve equal time.

"Do I think that only conservative films should be made? Absolutely not.

Why is it, he asks rhetorically, that a conservative filmmaker even has to make such a denial, but the other 90% of Hollywood that is liberal does not?

No. Action movies should be made too, and movies starring Sean William Scott.

Agreed! -- but will the present leftists ever change?? Certainly not. Thier total lack of principles and care for America and its Constitution totally disqualify them from being called Americans in my book.

For those of us old enough to have been taught REAL HISTORY in government schools, we know what America is about, how it came about, and how it became and stays great. Those factors do not include lying, treasonous leftists who would tear down the fabric of this country.

I thought it was ridiculous that Fox asked the festival producer to defend the fact that they showed conservative POV films; I couldn't believe what I was hearing!

I can't wait to see Wilson's film!

I went to this film festival--and in a word, it was WONDERFUL!

There were so many films to watch, that it was hard to fit them all in. I bought a copy of every film that they were offering for sale so that we can enjoy them again.

Wow! Lucky you!

Hey, everybody. Pray for Mike Wilson to get a good distribution deal for his flick. (He won't get free publicity from the alphabet networks, though.)
