Some time ago I ordered a copy of 'Raising Beef Cattle' at Border's. I got The Treatment on both ends...when I ordered and when I paid for it. You could tell the order takers were grossly offended and were bordering on giving me the why-for (even though it was available). During this 'stand off' I casually mentioned my plans for having beef along w/ my goats and how tasty home raised meat is. For a moment I thought they were both going to collapse. LOL! I did eventually get a call that my book had arrived and I should come pick it up immediately. Instead of filing it w/ the other orders it was in its own special location...all alone at the end of an empty rack. I suppose they thought it would some how contaminate the other books. During checkout I mentioned to the cashier how much I liked home raised beef. She wasn't impressed. In hindsight I should have made some small talk about how to fell and slaughter meat. LOL!!! I can only imagine what would have happened. My position is if they're going to be offended over something so trivial then I'll help in that endeavor. Why should I get upset b/c they're upset? My hide is alot tougher than that and anyway what difference does it make what they think.
