MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia roared back at the United States Friday over criticism of its Chechnya campaign, saying comments by a U.S. State Department spokesman were tantamount to aiding "information terrorism."
In a strongly worded statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry said State Department spokesman James Rubin's remarks about the Chechnya campaign made at a Thursday briefing were "absolutely unacceptable, both in form and content."

Bin Laden in Kosovo
Date: Thu, 27 Apr 2000 12:32:49 -0400 (EDT)
BELGRADE, April 27 (AFP) - Islamic Saudi millionaire Osama bin Laden, wanted for terrorism by the United States, is in Kosovo, the official Yugoslav news agency Tanjug said Wednesday.
"After hiding out for several years in Afghanistan," the agency said in a despatch from Kosovo's capital Pristina, bin Laden "has found a new refuge in the Balkans, precisely in Kosovo, the nest of European terrorism."
Tanjug said bin Laden, whom the agency described as a "terrorist and Islamic fanatic," arrived from Albania after having formed a group of 500 Islamic fighters in the eastern region around Korce and Pogradec to carry out "terrorist acts" in Kosovo.
He also planned similar acts in the southern region of Serbia bordering on Kosovo including Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac, the Yugoslav agency said.
Tension has been mounting in the region over the past 10 days, with many armed incidents and increasing ethnic Albanian demands. Its population includes some 70,000 ethnic Albanians, many of whom have complained of being harassed or maltreated by the Serbian police.
Tanjug said bin Laden arrived in Kosovo accompanied by "a close collaborator, Abu Hassan."
Bin Laden is wanted by the United States in connection with the 1998 bombings of the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, in which 224 people were killed.
Russians stop Iranian truck hauling nuke material
SPECIAL TO WORLD TRIBUNE.COM
Tuesday, April 4, 2000
MOSCOW -- An Iranian truck that contained nuclear material was seized along the border with Kazakhstan.
Russian sources said the truck driven by an Iranian national carried 10 containers of nuclear material when it was stopped along the border of Kazakhstan and Uzbekhistan. The sources said the truck was headed for Pakistan.
The Russian Itar-Tass agency confirmed the attempted smuggling of the nuclear material. They quoted Kazakh sources as saying a probe was launched but did not provide details.
The truck was stopped by Uzbek security officers. They said the trailer, which was manufactured in Iran, arrived from Kazakhstan. Documents in the truck identified the addressee as a Pakistan firm in the town of Quetta.
Uzbek sources said the Iranian driver carried documents that the truck was carrying stainless steel and that the shipment did not emit radiation.
Customs officers stopped the truck after their equipment registered that the vehicle emitted 100 times more radiation than the approved level.
The sources said the trailer was returned to Kazakhstan on Saturday night.
U.S. officials said Iran has tried to smuggle nuclear material from Muslim republics of the former Soviet Union. In the early 1990s, U.S. intelligence suspected that two nuclear bombs were smuggled from Kazakhstan to Teheran.
Nuremberg Lawyer names Clinton worst War Criminal since Hitler - Kosovo [Free Republic]
WASHINGTON .
As the bombs, smart and dumb, fall ceaselessly on Serbs, Montenegrins and sometimes Albanians, on bridges, waterworks, electric generation plants and factories, and on trains, trucks and homes, the remorseless crusade for "humanitarianism" presses forward to the applause of journalistic and academic shills. To paraphrase the Roman historian Tacitus, we are busy creating a desert, which we can then call peace.

Rep. Traficant -The Gutless Wonders of US Trade Commission and Clinton/Gore Administration
BLISS MANUFACTURING BANKRUPTED
March 14, 2000
(Mr. TRAFICANT asked and was given permission to address the House for 1 minute and to revise and extend his remarks.)
Mr. TRAFICANT. Mr. Speaker, Bliss Manufacturing in my district makes bumpers for General Motors. Not any more. Bliss bankrupted yesterday, putting 500 of my workers on the street due to two reasons: number one, the continuing flood of illegal steel imports; and number 2, after a recent decision by the United States International Trade Commission that ruled in favor of Japan, Russia, Brazil, and Korea.
Beam me up. Even the Youngstown Vindicator, one of the most respected newspapers in Ohio, one of the staunchest supporters of free trade in open markets, said enough is enough. I agree with the Youngstown Vindicator.
I will be submitting legislation this week that my colleagues should support. I want to yield back the gutless wonders of the United States International Trade Commission and the Clinton/Gore administration that appointed them.
