So are you saying that Rather knowingly, premeditated with malice of forethought intentionally set out to defraud the voting public who are in the undecided group?

It's unfortunate O'Reilly will go down with Rather.

that wouldn't be the way it worked; putting on my Bernard Goldberg hat here, what would have happened is that Rather (or more likely just his producer Mames), with their bias, shut down the authentication process before they ran out of subject material, believing in their Kerry loving heart of hearts that the story was true, if only it weren't for those darned document examiners who make swiss cheese out of the Rather / Mames source document production factory.

O'Reilly will have to shed his "Bottom Dweller" status before he can go down with anything floating on the surface :-)

That appears to be what Christopher Cox of the House is saying as well. This is an attempt to throw an election by manufacturing a story. Not so good.

I think he's saying whoever produced this segment, and it could've been Rather, seems to have had an agenda to get minimal CYA on the document's authenticity.

I'm rather impressed with how "hard" ABCNews has been on this CBS snafu.

It's my opinion that O'Reilly deserves to go down with Rather. I have not been able to watch/listen to him for several weeks. His ego and arrogance, not to mention his 'thoughts' about our Swiftvets has made me draw the line.
I am sad about it, nevertheless.

"It's unfortunate O'Reilly will go down with Rather"

Not really a bad thing, he has become an unbearable ass.
