"You are correct and hopefull everyone will calm down and think about this. The current laws require LITERALLY the Border patrol agents go out and pick up every single individual illegal. Yes, that would be very nice but humanly impossible. We need to focus on real issues. like: Building a real fence that is not stuck in libo by envirowacko laws. (seriously a border fence should be exempt from environmental impact laws, screw the snails) Supporting our border patrol agents who are FREQUENTLY SHOT AT BY MEXICAN POLICE AND MILITARY. Finding effective means of dealing with those who come legally and overstay illegally. (vast majority illegals enter the USA LEGALLY.) We all want the same thing. No illegal entry in the USA. We have to deal with reality in order to make this work better in the future."

I agree with everything you said. But we also need to make it easier to immigrate to the US. A big part of the reason we have 3 million people illegally crossing the border every year, is because there is something like a 10 year wait for citizenship.

I'd much rather make it easier for foreigners to become US citizens, than have them illegall crossing the borders. If they become citizens, they are documented, and we can keep track of what is actually happening.

It's kind of like the gun control argument. If you make it too difficult to get a firearm license, only outlaws will have firearms. If you make it too difficult for people to immigrate, all you get is a bunch of illegal immigrants.

Maybe you could also enforce your border without allowing a flood of folks in to depress wages and increase the stress on our infrastructure.

Your argument is fatally flawed, as there is NO provision in the Second Amendment which allows ANY level of government to issue "permits" to own firearms. Remember, the Constitution GRANTS NOTHING. It only required the government to RECOGNIZE PREEXISTING RIGHTS. The Constitution is a grant of authority from WE, THE PEOPLE, to the government, to allow it to do certain things in our names. It is NOT a grant of "rights" from the government to us. Do you see the difference and just WHY your argument is unacceptable in a free society?

Gun ownership is a right.
There is no right for foreigners to come to the US. We are a country and have a right and duty to defend our borders and nation.
