No, it was designed to be a diversion from the third anniversary of 9/11, which the Democrats knew would be a political bonanza for President Bush and futher bury Kerry. Dan Rather cut corners and sped up this story so it would air right before September 11. They thought Bush would be spending the weekend defending himself; instead, it was Dan Rather spending the weekend defending himself!!!
That's probably why they created those hurricanes, and made sure that the anniversary of 9/11 fell on Saturday.
