please...Nixon was a Rhino. For gun control, price controls, big government. His saving grace was his accumen for foreign policy. He chose to brake the law when he didn't even have to. His character came through...under pressure he resorted to coverup over the truth. If he had sacked Dean and his idiots and acted "clean" he would have finished out his term.

In the last years of his life, Nixon was a buddy of Bill Clinton. Clinton had nothing but glowing words for Nixon once he took office, he even eulogized him at his funeral.
He did brake the law but not break it.
He was a victim of the media and the Democratic majorities in the Senate and House. To our everlasting shame the usual RINO's helped with the kill.

The point is Nixon did not forge documents, quite the opposite. His enemies had all the originals plus the tape. A comparison to Rather tells the Democrats, 'no problem, he's no worse than Nixon' which muddies the water and is a stupid thing to say.
