Travis McGee's Book In Third Printing
www.EnemiesForeignAndDomestic.com ^ | September 13th, 2004 | Travis McGee

Posted on 09/13/2004 3:37:07 PM PDT by Travis McGee

Today, on the day the so-called Assault Weapons Ban has passed into history, I thought I'd mention that my Second Amendment novel "Enemies Foreign And Domestic" has just gone into its third printing. The first 3,000 copies have sold out in the past year, and I'm publishing another 2,000 copies. Thanks to all of the freepers who have helped to make the book an internet cult hit!

And I'd also like to mention that with the radical left in complete hysteria over the prospects of a second Bush term, the chances of an arranged "assault rifle massacre" before the election are greater than ever. With the sunset of the AWB all over the national news today, it must be crossing radical minds that a well-timed "assault rifle massacre" could be blamed on President Bush "allowing" the sale of semi-auto rifles.

I think there's a MAMMOTH market for conservative-oriented fiction in general, and Christian/mainstream crossover in particular. As you noted, the LB series is so very poorly written, yet it did what it did because of a starved market. The demand is not just in books, either. PASSION proved how staggering the market is for the same thing in film: QUALITY productions of biblical material. There are so many fabulous Bible stories that would translate so beautifully to big-budget film.

BTW, I had a very unexpected development in my own career a couple weeks ago. A very successful agent at a large agency stumbled across a link to a sample chapter of mine, read it, excitedly asked for more, fell in love with my writing, and offered representation, all within about six hours, and very much unexpected and out of the blue.

Will check on the details.

I know they went through the Christian bookstores and ultimately found their major publisher after getting into Sam's.

BTW, my DFS Volume V ebooks are doing pretty well.

Up to number four overall on Powell's for:

MSReader eBooks HERE

and for:

Adobe Reader eBooks HERE.

"I just wish I could write Domestic Enemies faster. I'm way too slow!"

Book writing isn't an easy thing. I remember thinking how hard can this be when I get started. Soldiering was much easier by comparison. Not compared head to head physically, but it's mentally draining. It's the tedious work that gets you. The rewriting.

Agents are just like the Army. When they're ready to move they move. You're story is a perfect example of that.

Congrats my friend! This is outstanding!

No one is more deserving. Best of luck and let us all know as things come out in print!

Thanks, guys. Much appreciated. Just a step, but a tough step, nonetheless.

All the best to each of you, as well!

I wouldn't be surprised either. In fact, I'm certain Schumer etc have a raft of legislation ready to pull out on demand.

Hillary Clinton said the election will be decided by something appearing suddenly from an unforeseen direction at the last minute.

Just as the Buckhead-Howlin debunking of the Rather-TANG fraud made Kitty Kelley persona non grata, so, too, the forewarning/forearming of a contrived terrorist event makes the execution of such riskier and less attractive.

That such an event has already been envisioned and forecast here by you and others should make the plotters pause.

No doubt Chuck Schumer, Dianne Feinstein and Hillary Clinton are poised to exploit the opening created by the deniable dirty tricks teams.

If there is a bloody October Surprise, it was hatched in Chappaqua and Chappaqua's doorstep is where it shall be laid.

I never got around to making an audio version, I only had 2 or 3 people ask for it.

Just click the cover at the top of the thread. Do you have a vision impairment? I have offered other solutions to a few near-blind freepers.

That was one of my motives for writing this book. It makes a patsy maniac operation a bit harder to pull off without deep scrutiny. Or at least I hope it will make people look behind the overt and intended motives and explanations for a history-shifting act.

LOL, no. I have a sleep impairment. I'm not as young as I once was and I lead a pretty active life which means I fall asleep when I read.

But I'm taking a few days off for R&R and it will be a good opportunity to see what you've got as a writer. :-}

Adios MB.
