A friend of the family owned horses and a big 4-horse trailer back in the early 1970s and they liked the 4 wheel drive Jeep Cherokee wagons for a tow vehicle. Once, when trade-in time came around, their dad stepped into the AMC/Jeep store and asked, "have they gotten rid of the noise whistles and rain leaks like we had in the old one?"
"Not yet," was the salesman's reply.
"OK," his dad said, "give me a blue one."

Can you name the truck with four wheel drive,
smells like a steak and seats thirty-five..
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Well, it goes real slow with the hammer down,
It's the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown!
Canyonero! (Yah!) Canyonero!
[Krusty:] Hey Hey
The Federal Highway comission has ruled the Canyonero unsafe for highway or city driving.
Canyonero!
12 yards long, 2 lanes wide,
65 tons of American Pride!
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Top of the line in utility sports,
Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!
Canyonero! Canyonero! (Yah!)
She blinds everybody with her super high beams,
She's a squirrel crushing, deer smacking, driving machine!
Canyonero!-oh woah, Canyonero! (Yah!)
Drive Canyonero! Woah Canyonero! Woah!

Not to mention the soccer moms that will drive it around for no other reason than status. Like the ones that drive the F-250s around, but don't have a trailer hitch.

Some guy in Huntington Beach has been driving around with one of these for at least 3 months. Perhaps he works for the company. I had joked with my wife a year or so that Mack, et al would come out with a small tractor-trailer and sell it as a truck/SUV. When I saw this thing cruising down the road (then on another day saw it parked at the supermarket), I just chuckled to myself.

I worked in a mining facility and saw (felt) these CATs running all over. Amazing vehicles.
Interesting feature: They ran the exhaust through the dump bed to help rock and mud slide, this caused early rusting.
Although i never saw one run over a pickup, my buddy backed over his bosses truck in a large Komatsu wheel loader.

Not to mention the soccer moms that will drive it around for no other reason than status. All kidding aside, I must confess irritation because our area has a lot of these women driving these monsters.
We get no snow. It's strictly urban. They drive these monsters while chatting on their cell phones and simultaneously drinking Starbucks.
They don't know how to park them and can't see what they're doing.
It borders on the ridiculous.

From the look of things, you could have a covered BBQ with seating for 6 on top of the engine on the CAT 797. Plus a driver to make it portable. Heck, for a REAL tailgate party, set up a tent over the bed with seating for 20, a big-screen and a generator!

"Statement: "Look at me! I'm an idiot!"
At least you can argue that the Hummers look cool. This thing looks silly."
Actually it depends on your point of view. If you are interested in fuel economy, fancy styling, or what your neighbors think of you, this probably isn't the vehicle for you.
If you have so much money that $100,000 is pocket change, you want something that will allow you to survive a collision with a Mac truck, and couldn't care less what people think of you, this might be just the ticket.

This is ridiculous and irresponsible. Conservatives should realize that vehilces like this only make us more dependent on the middle east for oil. It is the epitome of the leftist stereotype of the right. If it has inegrated advanced US technology for fuel efficiency than I am for it. If it is a blantant gas guzzler, the producer and those who want to drive it should be ashamed.
I want to put as few petrol dollars in Iranian and Saudi pockets as possible.

Can I order one with a Phalanx gun? I could even exit at I-17 and McDowell without fear of being jacked.
To: uglybiker
poseur.4x4.com had it right ..... they really will make these things.
Now just imagine this truck with a little more styling and a hard climate controlled budo all the way to the tailgate. Poof .. SUV from hell.
