Outstanding post!
Though the article does not deeply delve into the advent of "alternative media" (cable news, talk radio and the blogosphere), it does provide a foundational understanding of where journalism is headed in this country.
If a truly objective executive ever got a hold of the ABC or NBC news divisions, they could absolutely dominate in audience share. But alas, there are no television business people with that kind of vision.
