First, I just have to point out the irony of the author's name: Karen Tumulty, and how appropriately it fits for interviewing the democratic party candidate.

Def: tumult

n 1: a state of commotion and noise and confusion, 2: violent agitation, 3: the act of making a noisy disturbance

But that is not the point. Here are Senator Kerry's remarks in the Time article:

"I regret voting for Justice Scalia..."

Reality Distortion Field # 1: Then why did you? Odd, since you don't share his views on conception or marriage. That would make you what, Senator Kerry, a better Catholic?

"I don't know what you're talking about in terms of the Bush bounce..."

Reality Distortion Field # 2: Uhh. Say that again?

"We're going to stop subsidizing jobs that go overseas and create jobs here in America..."

Reality Distortion Field # 3: How are you going to do that, Senator Kerry? You voted for NAFTA. Sure seems like that didn't create more jobs in America. Anyway, when will you announce your job growth plan and what is it? Everybody buy more ketchup?

"I have personal relationships with leaders around the world..."

Reality Distortion Field #4: Senator Kerry, you don't get to be President of the United States because of the size of your Rolodex. The White House isn't a real estate office. Anyway, communists don't count, and as far as Rolodexes go, the President clearly has a bigger one than you...

"The Supreme Court of the United States is at stake..."

Reality Distortion Field #5: To the liberals, this is what it's all about. Control of the Supreme Court. You've got to hand it to the pigs in Animal Farm, they understood power. What do you think of representative government, Senator Kerry? Ever heard of that idea?

Technicians at DNC Technologies, the people that brought you Algore's Internet and Global Warming Sensors, today unveiled the Reality Distortion Field Generator.

The RDFG will prove essential in Ideology Propagation and Sheep Control, which inplies the RDFG will be in continuous operation.

The White House isn't a real estate office.

But it WAS used as a Motel 6...

I think it will take more than a RDFG to put Kerry in office.

"I have recently unearthed documents that prove categorically that George Bush was in Cambodia over Christmas (Dec. 25th, no superscript) of '68."

This picture obviously documents that John Kerry was moonlighting when he was supposed to be attending national security meetings at the United States Senate. It certainly is not fraudulent, because it's obviously John Kerry's face. I heard that 3 of his former associates have come forward, but are unwilling to be interviewed on camera. They all stated that he had a "thing" for fruit, especially bananas.

Odd, since you don't share his views on conception or marriage.

Actually, he did didn't share his views before he didn't did share his views.
