Another Explosion--Woes Swirling Around Kim Jong-il

To put it rather starkly, both Koreas are now apparently racing toward their end. While Roh Moo-hyun regime, with its anti-constitutional attempt to dismantle Republic of Korea, is driving S. Korea toward an ideological civil war, the Kim Jong-il regime of the North is also heading for its termination. In addition to the mass explosion which reportedly occurred on (Sept.) 9th, lots of intelligence are coming in which point to many troubling developments swirling around Kim Jong-il.

1. Since his favorite wife, Ko Yong-hee, died last month, Kim Jong-il has been in such distress that his health might have deteriorated. Even though Kim Jong-il had many tangled relationship with women, he had special respect for Ko, and emotionally depended on her. Ko was the only person who could restrain Kim Jong-il from going to the extreme. American intelligence forecasted that it could be difficult to have another round of 6-way talks to resolve N. Korean nuke issue. The (Kim's) shock over Ko's death is one of factors which led to such a forecast.

2. Uncertainty persists over whether one of Ko's two sons, Jong-chul and Jong-un, may outmaneuver Kim Jong-nam, who is Kim Jong-il's first son born from Sung Hye-rim, to become Kim Jong-il's successor. On top of that, Jang Sung-thaek, who was No.2 man in the regime and Kim Jong-il's brother-in-law, has been under house arrest. This compounds the instability of power inside the regime's inner circle. Jang's wife is Kim Kyong-hee, Kim Jong-il's sister. Kim Jong-il would have sacked Jang after getting approval from Kim Kyong-hee. There is even an analysis put forth by American Intelligence that Kim Jong-il does not plan to name his successor, sensing that current N. Korean regime may end with him. Kim Jong-il appears to be healthy. However, he does have heart problem. Considering his father also died of heart attack, it may be that heart ailment runs in the family.

3. Words are spreading among S. Korean/American/Japanese/Chinese intelligence circles that Kim Jong-il could do something extraordinary before American election, believing that Bush is heading for his reelection. According to American assessment, he may pull off a nuke test, or missile launch, or declaring his intention to abandon nukes. Consensus is that Intra-Korean summit would be impossible before the (American) election.

4. It is gaining more credibility that Ryongchon Explosion of last April was indeed an assassination attempt on Kim Jong-il. The explosion occurred 15minutes after Kim Jong-il's train passed the location. According to some intelligence, explosives and detonator (for the bomb) were said to be recovered. Kim Jong-il was reportedly ditched the train upon hearing news of the explosion, switch into a car and drove off to Pyongyang. In order to maintain his power, Kim Jong-il needs to guarantee the privilege of the military leadership. At the same time, he needs to have various power centers to check against one another, keeping power from getting concentrated in one place. Since the death of his father, Kim Jong-il pursued "Military First" policy, a rule by martial law, in which he gave a lot of power to State Security Command. These days, he put State Security Command under General Military Political Bureau.

5. For last 10 years, the changes in N. Korea are such that industrial production facilities have irrevocably broken down, the market system has been emerging, the N. Korean regime has been breaking apart from the bottom, and regime's enforcing organs are graduallylosing control. Right now, Pyongyang and their military are the only functioning part of N. Korea. The system started to rot from the legs, now rots spread above the waist. Currently, only a heart and a brain are functioning.

6. If American President Bush is reelected, he no longer has to be swayed too much by public opinions in his second term. There are views that he will be sure to destroy Kim Jong-il's regime. N. Korean Human Right Act now sent to the Senate would be effective means to strangle Kim Jong-il's regime.

Ran away in a car. That must have been something. It's the first time I have heard this.

"According to American assessment, he may pull off a nuke test, or missile launch, or declaring his intention to abandon nukes."

Any of these actions just improve Bush's chances.

A good question for the debates would be, "Senator Kerry, if you are elected, what would you do about N. Korea?".

Well, I certainly hope he didn't ruin his high-heels! Or perhaps his "pumps." Oh the horror!

Hell, what would you have done? I know I sure would have un-assed the area as rapidly as I could! Car, truck, chopper! As they said in Monty Python's HOLY GRAIL...Runaway! Runaway!

Besides, it's hard to run in heels, that's why he took a vehicle.

I have always had trouble with names. Korean names are even tougher. To me, the article read something like this:

Steven Carson, the leader of Korea, has three sons. Stephan Carson, Steve Carson, and the eldest Skeeve Carson. Steve Carson married Stephanie Carter, who is the sister of Steven Karter. Steve Cartman is the eldest nephew of Stephanie Cartman.

It's like a friggin' logic puzzle to sort out those Korean names... Maybe it's just me.

This sounds almost exactly like the Clintons....

Just heard Bill Kristol on Fox talk about this. He (sKerry) was apparently asked that by the NY Slimes. His answer was buried in the article. "He declined to be descriptive other than to say that the issue would have to go to the UN Security Council."

His favorite wife dying who supposedly held back Kim is certainly not good news. Kim is really going to crap or get off the pot very soon. Unfortunately, I think he'll attack South Korea rathen then become the next Libyan version of Khaddafi.

I heard that the "dear" leader has a sexual identity crisis and was observed wearing high-heeled shoes and lipstick. May be seriously demented.

Clinton will prance around some day like this wearing Hitlery's panties on his head. (They're both big enough.)

So instead of an Uday and Qusay, he's got the three Jongs to deal with.
