Breaux is retiring. His is one of the seats the GOP hopes to snag this election.

Just curious, Why is Breaux retiring?

Is he just fed up with his party like Zell or is there some other reason(s)?

Just curious, Why is Breaux retiring?

I believe the public reason is that he wants to make some real money in the private sector (lobbying). My personal opinion is that this centrist Dem is tired of seeing his beloved party lurch everleftward, smearing our military and our country.

Breaux wants to MAKE MONEY and will be a high-powered lobbysist, like his beloved former colleague J. Bennett Johnston, Jr., D-LA. There was a report that Breaux will even team up with Don Nickles, R-OK, to set up a bipartisan lobbying company.
