FYI, the Weather Underground seems to put up the latest updates 10-30 minutes before the National Weather Service website.

The Weather Channel lady was just saying that they're starting to see the beginnings of that northerly turn they've been forecasting. I still think Panama City - as a Category 4!

New to Houston (and Texas).
What are the chances that we will get hit? Should we prepare in any way?

History says Ivan may be headed to Mexico then Texas.

Your graphic indicates 'history' is split 50/50, with three tracks going to Mexico/Texas and three turning north to the Panhandle/Louisiana.

This was the history of storms similar to Charley, history is only a good guide when synoptic patterns match what you happen to be looking at in real time.
Unless Ivan slips under the week trough to his north, he will not hit Texas. I'd put the chance of a TX landfall around 5%, that will be lowered to 0% in another 12-24 hours if things play out as they should.
