"he would have been in a "non-chargeable" training status and he would not be counted against the number of airmen alloted to the active force."

your are correct; it is TOTALLY a force-accounting and budget issue;

you have to keep track of who is being paid out of which budget account; you have to keep track of how many are in student status, how many in hospital status, it goes on and on and on.

for all intents and purposes, active duty for training, esp. attending an active duty school, is active duty in the Army of AF or whatever component. for civilians to claim otherwise, and call the President of these Unites States of America and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces thereof, a LIAR about it, is absurd, and the epitome of conceit, because they know nothing, NOOTHING about it.

Did I say I AM OUTRAGED?

P.S. I have served in enlisted status in the Army Reserve, in student capacity; officer in the Army Reserve on active duty; Reserve inactive (because I did not resign my commission when I left my tour of active duty); Army Reserve (drilling); National Guard (drilling); full-time NG on active duty; and regular Army, from which I retired -- and all the time/points in a very complicated way from those other statuses counted to a certain extent. If anyone is curious of any more details how confusing the status gets, you can ask.

BTW - I used the SAME uniforms and insignia when going from one status to another; only the unit patch changed.

Thanks!

I can't believe this is the hill they want to die on. It's just too easy to verify; why are they going here? It just doesn't make sense.
