both of these political parties are getting on my nerves...

The problem is with the Kerry campaign, the Democratic Party, and the MSM. Get with the program.

The more something isn't an issue, the more they'll try to make it one. They're mental.

Sure seems to me the air force is mentioned alot on this piece of paper. Anybody have a picture of President Bush in his old air force suit with a clear picture of his component?

"the millions of national guardsmen out there will be totally PO'd, unless they are Kerry partisans."

you got that right! before this is over, all of the NG will have been deployed to Iraq at least once; and they are drawing all the pay and benefits of their active-Army component comrades

I'm starting to suspect the Democrats are running a COM-SYMP for President, but that's just me.

Look, there's Tom Harkin and Kerry with their Sandinista buddy Ortega.

What were they doing meeting with that communist SOB anyway?.

They sure look HAPPY to see him!.

I hope so. I hope they are very vocal. Kerry has spent an enormous amount of time inferring an amount of cowardice exsists in the Guard. I must admit to a bit of bewilderment that I have not heard former NG Members express outrage.

Here is one retired NG member who is OUTRAGED! HOW DARE they say these things about the NG! SHAME on them!

This would be like attacking J f'nK on the basis that he enlisted in the US Naval Reserves and then went on active duty in the US Navy - someone please give me the difference -

OR for that matter Kerry's 4 military defferments (plus a 5th to study is Paris - denied) versus Cheney's 5 deferments??

Hahahahaha! I love watching these Democrats hugging their tar-baby. Beautiful. another self-immolation!

The Lamestream DemoPress is so amazingly ( and entertainingly!!!) blind with prejudice that they keep missing basic facts. And it is soo-o-o much fun to watch them!

The subscript of the criticism of the Bush ANG service is that W was somehow a coward because he joined the Guard to fly the F102 ( the only aircraft the 111th/147th was flying at the time). But the "coward" story line flies in the face of some very easily ascertainable facts:

1. The F102 was being flown by Texas ANG pilots on the day George Bush reported for service. Bobby Hodges, who was misquoted in the SeeBS story this week, was one of them.

2. What was the F102? A nice little fun airplane? No. Then, as now, flying jet fighters was dangerous work (that's spelled d-a-n-g-e-r-o-u-s for you dopey Democrat lurkers). How dangerous? Go to the Air Force Safety Center to find out. The F102, described by Tom Wolfe in The Right Stuff as a deadly "brick with fins, had a frightening accident rate. It was more dangerous than any aircraft currently in the US arsenal. More dangerous than the F-15 or the F-16 by a factor of 3 or 4. Of 875 built, 289 crashed or were otherwise destroyed in accidents. Seventy pilots were killed in training accidents. Are the Kerry Kennel's Press Poodles now going to tell the families of those pilots about their "lack of courage and service?" Is this yet another way for Kerry to smear the service of those in the Armed Forces during Vietnam? 3. Bush served the first two years of his ANG commitment in the Air Force. This was not week-end or occasional duty, it was full-time. Somewhere somebody claimed that Bush served as many days in the service as Kerry. Someone should still check that out. it was very close, at any rate. He definitely served more days than his 2000 opponent, Al Gore.

Someone on one of these threads had that great quote (the entire paragraph) on one of these threads from Tom Wolfe regarding the deadliness of the F102 and the brass it took to fly these coffins with wings. Really eloquent.

"Read another, get the picture, we are not talking about sane minds here, we are talking about lunatics!!!"

It's the only answer to why they persist in going after his subject, which NO ONE is going to vote on. Their tactic seems to be to undermine W's truthfulness, but even if he were lying (I don't believe he is), people would think "Well, I've done some crappy things in MY past, too--what about now?" And now they see him as an asskicker. They see Kerry as an ass.

"- Bush did cocaine in the guard - that's why he didn't go for his physical"

I thought someone said they didn't do urine tests, etc., in the 70's? I don't know, personally, but had seen several people saying that on FR.

Physicals were required to insure pilots were fit to fly. They were not intended for checking for drug abuse. It was required for maintaining flight status. If you weren't flying, it shouldn't be a big deal.

Democrats are really reaching up a long dark alley on this one, and this one not being the only one!

They did not have urine testing in the early 70's. They did start a drug rehab program in 1970 though. So you either got busted outright (barracks searches were common) or you volunteered for the program.

Believe me once this line of attack comes out the millions of national guardsmen out there will be totally PO'd, unless they are Kerry partisans.

And exactly who will vote FOR Kerry because of this?

Drudge is saying Clinton is against this strategy. I'm not so sure.

Maybe the plan is to turn off sooooooooo many voters that a lot don't vote. Maybe they think that in a suppressed-turnout election they have a shot.

If they're right, it's a "brilliant" strategy for winning, though of course totally lacking in class and statesmanship.

More likely, they're wrong and we are seeing the mother of all Hail Mary passes.

The Air National Guard is a vital part of the US Air Force.

That is a direct quote from the recruiting page of the ANG page.

If this splitting of hairs is what the Kerry campaign is putting their money on...I'd saw that W is in pretty good shape.

Gee, you'd think that if medals and ribbons are interchangeable, the Air Force and ANG would be interchangeable.

We were always taught that in time of war, there was NO effective difference between the Navy and Coast Guard even if we had different jobs in both war and peace.
