He's not listed as MCPON. He gave his rank as MACM. Both are E-9. There are several othe E-9 master chief designations. MACM is going to be one per ship. There have obviously been hundreds.

Yeah, but according to elfman, the guy says he retired a Master Chief Petty Officer. Guess I'm just not understanding the terms correctly.

In the interest of being totally correct, MCPON is an E-10. See http://www.nps.navy.mil/Code22/milrank.htm

Also, there is NOT one MACM per ship. Only large ships would have an Master At Arms that senior.

[Again, no, I have not served a tour aboard a ship, but I DO know how to do some pajama research.]
