Old media types will often justify their laziness by blaming the pressures of meeting deadlines. This will be old media's next line of defence: deadline anxiety syndrome.
"These bloggers in their pyjamas have an UNFAIR advantage!" they'll whine. "We have to fill so many column inches/airtime minutes in just hours! They can take all day to find all sorts of stuff because they have nothing better to do! We can't wait forever to get our calls returned! Editors are always cracking the whip!"
