When this fake SEAL's claim of spending five years in Viet Nam was pointed out to me, I knew he couldn't be for real. SEALs deployed to VN for 6 month tours, so "five years in Viet Nam" seemed highly improbable. I knew lots of multiple tour "real deal Viet Nam SEALs" during my peacetime duty in the teams in the 1980s, and I never heard of this guy.
This only took a couple of minutes time for "amateurs" on Free Republic to check out. The "professional" journalists at the AP must have been to busy to do this basic checking.

This is the third AP lie in two weeks. Can we keep a scoreboard somewhere of lies and rates of lying by major media outlets? I can hardly keep up. Leaving aside CBS, CNN and the NYT, at thier current rate, the AP alone has time to circulate at least 12 more bogus stories about the President between now and Election Day.
