Maybe Rush is just being overly-optimistic, but hopefully the elite media really is collapsing.

The power leads of the self annointed effete elite MSM names will soon find them selves replaced by the embeds that were with the troops in combat, I think; and that will go all the way up the food chain.

Dan Rather duped CBS. He's been doing it for a long, long, time.

From the Halls of CBS
To the desk of Dan Rather
We fight our country’s media bias
In the net, tv ads, and stream
First to fight for rights of Freepers
And to keep the media clean
We are proud to claim the title of
The FREE REPULIC TEAM

For too long, those employed MSM have lived an easy life. With their monopoly on the dissemination of information, they could get away with arguments of "objectivity" without criticism. They could claim to be "above politics" while at the same time putting forth the talking points of the Democratic party on a daily basis.

I don't think the liberal Ted Turner had any clue as to what would become of his "revolt" against the major networks and how it would eventually come to haunt CNN as well. Likewise, when Al Gore invented the internet, I don't think he had conservative bloggers and Free Republic in mind.

The Berlin Wall and the Soviet Union fell seemingly overnight--Old Media can fall "without warning," too.

Regarding his statement, " I don't know what the charge is. I didn't know until today that Kerry was even in the Naval Reserve, but he went to the Naval Reserve when he opted out of Vietnam after the three Purple Hearts.":

It is amazing the Rush did not know this. He is usually on top of things. It is one of the biggest hypocrisies of the Kerry-ites that Kerry has gigantic holes in his reserve record indicating that he did not fulfill his responsibilities there. Not enough people are aware of this partly because Rush has not made it known.

The answer to this problem will not be a changed MSM. The answer will be to filter/control internet dialogue. Hillary has been advocating it for years.

If Kerry loses the election, it will be "due to internet fanatics distorting the facts and disrupting legitimit media forum and broadcasts to a fragile American public"

The key issue here is how fast the media is to jump on news that can be construed as Anti-Bush and then lend bias support either intentionally or unintentionally to the same news. Fair and Balanced the american people deserve nothing less. The only media outlet that attempts to be fair and balanced is Fox. The MSM is the cause for the division in the country. In any event... the MSM is all Liberal Pravda.

I worked at the pentagon in 1972 & 1973 in the communications center. I had a selectric at the time with a special print head made to use with the first optical scanner for reading information.
Just to set the record straight.

The really big problem here is that there is absolutely no accountability. The companies that fund See B.S. are going to get YOUR money every time you go to the store. They then turn what was YOUR MONEY over to king Rather I, ruling emperor of See BAIS news.

There should be an FCC requirement that a company broadcasting OVER THE PUBLIC AIRWAVES must have some iota of apolitical objectivity. The FCC is, of course, funded with our taxes and probably wants more.

I canceled my subscription to the Orlando Sentinel (Orlando Slantinel as we call it here) the day after they endorsed traitor Clinton for a second term in 1996. I have not read a sentence from the Slantinel since that day in 1996.

I stopped watching ABC,CBS and NBC years ago. Once in a great while, my wife and I watch CNN's Larry King as we play a game to see who can guess the softball question King will throw to his socialist pals who are "guests". Once one of us wins, we shut it off laughing our heads off. FOX is the only TV station I watch for news/political news. I even stopped watching Hollywood produced TV shows--I am tired of their social commentary in entertainment shows. The TV in our household is for select movies and sport events only, and for FOX News shows.

I boycott Disney even though I live in Orlando because Peter Jennings is anti-American and Eisner is anti-American values. I laughed when I saw the trailers for the Disney produced movie Pearl Harbor having anti-American Alex Baldwin in a starring role.

I catch Mike Savage, Sean Hannity and Rush when I can or travelling during office hours. I use the Internet for research and for fair opinion.

I would not read a New York Times article if I was paid to. While waiting in the doctor's office, I will twiddle my thumbs before I would ever pick up a Time or Newsweek magazine. Why should I read from socialist writers? I read Michelle Malkin, Peggy Noonan and Ann Coulter from the Internet.

I may not be typical but I have thrown out the MSM for good. I am sure there are others like me, and I am sure these numbers will grow.

---This goes on and on. And now guess what's coming up on Monday? Kitty Kelley at The Today Show. Is that going to survive? Is NBC going to rethink putting Kitty Kelley on for three days?---

I can't find any mention of Kitty Kelly on the Today Show website. are they bailing?

Did this typewriter have "superscript"? Regardless, it is still improbable that the Texas Air National Guard had them. Additionally, there is a lot of indication that the Colonel hated using typewriters.
