Exactly.
Just spent a couple days with some good friends (while fleeing Ivan), big time conservatives and Bush supporters.
But they are city bred, don't really approve of gun ownership for civilians except for 100 year old designs, are supporters of the assault weapon ban...it's shocking to me how the way people think has changed in this country.
I often think that we are only still free because of the momentum of a centuries long tradition. When that tradition fails, our freedom might not be long in following it.
Not to mention the fact that any time a "Bill of Rights" is something handed out by government, it is more accurate to call it a Bill of Regulations.
In other words, if government gives it to you, it is actually a limitation of freedoms.
