Shotgun John
With deer and waterfowl hunting seasons opening up around the nation, the Kerry/Edwards campaign is dangling some bait to hook the Cabelas vote.
Whispers learns it will announce a 'Sportsman's Bill of Rights' as early as this week.
Topping the six point plan is the 'right to own firearms.'
A draft reads, 'Gun rights are fundemental for the sport of hunting.'
Kerry will also propose paying landowners to give access to the hook and bullet crowd.

Re: post # 13 - Probably shot him in the back.
Indeed, about the only thing good about this election is it is helping good people identify bad people. People so far gone you'd like to think they are parodies, but they actually live too damned close for comfort.
Kerry is an f'in disgrace. If Cabelas or other firms so much as give this farce the time of day, I'll sure as hell boycott them.
The little noise you just heard is the last gas passing from this campaign.
The Second Amendment guarantees US citizens the right to own weapons as the last line of defense against oppression by their government. This is exactly what the founding fathers wisely intended, and of course, the freedom hating socialists will never protect that right. Hunters ought to speak out long and loud when this phony "right to hunt" is put out by leftist politicians who, immediately after election, will decide which guns they deem necessary for hunters to use. Probably a Daisy bb gun would be as far as some want to go.
We already have one; It's called The Second amendment!
Wasn't there a GUN OWNER's Bill of Rights bill (redundant?) a couple of years ago in Congress? How did the two Johns vote on that one?
What's the price tag on paying the land owners?
Exactly.
As I've said somewhere in another thread, gun ownership should be tempered with common sense.
I've run into people who have zero common sense when it comes to gun handling.
Saw a guy near shoot himself in the foot with a .22lr.
He was "english cradling" it and it drooped and started to slide from the crook of his arm, so he grabbed it by teh trigger guard.
*pop*
Dirt next to his foot jumps.
Or at least the second.
