All the arguments, pro & con about kerning, proportional spacing, line spacing render mute the ultimate conclusion:
When the CBS meno is typed in MS WORD, the CBS memo overlays EXACTLY the memo typed in WORD. No one, as far as I know, has typed the memo on an IBM Selectric of that vintage that will overlay the CBS memo.
Am I missing something?
WOW! & double WOW. That is an expert. Is Free Republic the only group to understand? I just read on DRUDGE that the DNC is coming out with more ANG stuff on W.
Wasn't it Sen. Harkin who said, "Even if there was a video of WJC raping on the Capitol steps, we won't vote impeaccment."
Right. While someone with lead type probably could produce a document that matched any given character or line spacing, there is no reason to believe that somebody setting lead type in Times New Roman would just so happen to add just the right amount of extra space after each character to precisely match MS Word.
