NEW YORK Three years later, they remain open questions, and many people wonder if firm answers would lead to more pain or less, to practical lessons for society or to simply a spectacle for the morbidly curious. . How many people jumped from the upper floors of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11? . Why did so many more people jump from the north tower than the south? . What floors did they come from? . Who were they? . The attack on the World Trade Center was one of the most observed catastrophes in history, and those who fell or dropped from the towers were, briefly, its most public victims. They emerged one or two at a time from a blanket of smoke and fire that rendered mass death virtually invisible. Nearly all the others killed that day - whether high in the towers, on board the hijacked airplanes or deep inside the Pentagon - were beyond the sight of survivors and witnesses. Those who came through the windows of the towers provided the starkest, most harrowing evidence of the desperate conditions inside.

"In this moment of hysteria, they probably felt that there MUST be some large cushion or fire rescue airpad of some sort since it had been a long time."
Possibly, but I recall from the time, a fireman being interviewed said that under the circumstances, being trapped by fire, it is almost as if instinct takes over, people jump to avoid the flames.
Doesn't matter whether it's the second floor or the hundredth, apparently, but I say this, may God damn to eternal hell anyone who deliberately puts his fellow man in such a position-- and anyone who cheers it.
two of the photos ... never forget ... especially those who danced and celebrated that day ... there were candy-tossing celebrations by some that day ...

It is quite eerie that all images seem to have been impounded on the victims of WTC, while the press has sent us an endless tidal wave of Abu Gharib photos, The Chicago Tribune enjoyed Abu Gharib so much they even had a woodcut of "the cloaked and hooded" prisoner commissioned and featured it on their editorial page one day.
Because the Empire State Building and the others, were there long before most of us--you never had to fear the established. When the "Twin Towers" were built, they were the new architecture. They were the new "modern" generation. My mother who was born in 1915 (now passed), remarked at the time that they were being built, we should not be building buildings that tall.
Personally, I do not know structurally how the older buildings compared, but the WTC was representative of the 60-70's generation. "Plastic" as you put it. Maybe, we all had a collective premonition, or the terrorists played upon our silent fears. Regardless, they were wonders to be beheld, and deep down they were feared. Ironically, mostly by those who took them down.
Those elevator rides in the twin towers was something else. Always had the fear they would crash. My fear of heights got tested to the max in NYC skyscrapers.
Stark contrast with:
Mark 12:28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
Mark 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mark 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
It's a true story. There is a book "September 11 - An Oral History" written by Dean E. Murphy. The story you reference is by an EMT worker who responded to the WTC that morning. The entire book is powerful.
I'm sure some did. Some may have fallen or been so badly injured (there was so much damage I can't imagine how anybody could have moved). But as you say, some may have lost their strength. This could just as easily been a building in Chicago, Los Angeles, New Orleans or Houston.
In Freshman Poli Sci class in 1966, I sat next to Dave Pruim, a big strapping football player with the most gentle personality. He went to work in the WTC one morning and an airplane came in the window.
Burn in Hell you muslim c*@&suckers.
you get an A+.
Jack van Impe can't tell the difference and neither can Robert Schuller.
THANKS.

means! Clueless, in fact.
Probably so. The Islamic terrorists have been fed such b.s. about their "sacrifice".
I knew that the MSM would sanitize the airwaves so I saved as many copies of jumpers that I could find. I do not know how to post them. Any help available?
I bet they will be damned to eternal hell, just like I'm sure Adolph Hitler has been damned to eternal hell.
I have been debating sending the pictures to a friend of mine who says she's voting for Kerry, cause of "the war" and "alzheimers research." She gets NO cable.....but, I'm still debating the question.....
and some of their families claim it's an Israeli Mossad conspiracy ... well, then let these guys walk onto the world stage ...
but they won't ... because they were on the planes.
