The nation's border czar yesterday said it is "not realistic" to think that law-enforcement authorities can arrest or deport the millions of illegal aliens now in the United States and does not think the American public has the "will ... to uproot" those aliens.

Pay no mind to that fool. I've tried reason before. It's a sickness of the brain.
"does not think the American public has the "will ... to uproot" those aliens."
Bul#$@!!!!
1) Put the National guard and military on our Mexican borders.
2) Arrest and put out of business anybody who knowlingly hires illegals.
3) Cut off all Federal aid to local jurisdictions which refuse to cooperate with INS in deporting apprehended illegals.
4) Cut off ALL social aid to ANY illegal alien.
5) STOP GOVERNMENT OFFICES AND PRIVATE MANUFACTURERS, STORES AND EMPLOYERS FROM USING ANY LANGUAGE BUT ENGLISH.
6) Require ALL new American citizens to have at least a working knowledge of English as a prerequisite for citizenship.
7) DEDUCT FROM THE TOTAL DOLLAR AMOUNT OF AMERICAN FOREIGN MILITARY OR ECONOMIC AID TO THIRD WORLD RATHOLES THE COST OF APPREHENDING AND DEPORTING THEIR ILLEGAL NATIONALS.
8) BILL ALL THIRD WORLD RATHOLES FOR THE COST OF APPREHENDING AND DEPORTING THEIR ILLEGAL NATIONALS, AND COLLECT THE BILL BY SEIZING AND SELLING ANY ASSETS THEY HAVE IN THE U.S. TO DEFRAY THE COST, INCLUDING ANY PRODUCTS SENT HERE FOR SALE FROM COMPANIES OPERATING IN SAID COUNTRIES.
9) Fire Norman Mineta.
10) Fire Norman Mineta.
No, that red tape does nothing but create ill will, not only among the prospective citizens, but also the current ones. The embassies overseas are frought with incompetence. The agency formerly known as the INS is run by morons.
My wife had an appointment at the embassy in her country to meet with the consul about her visa. She got there and they didn't have her name on the list. Could she ask for help? No. Because the embassy doesn't talk to anyone without an appointment. She had all her papers with her. I called to the embassy. They said yes, they'd let her in, after she made another appointment.
It was the embassy's fault they screwed up, and then they told my wife she had to make another appointment.
And I can't even tell you how many times the government has told us we had all the paperwork required, only to ask us for even MORE paperwork.
The embassies are filled with people on power trips.
It is incredibly easy to get into this country if you shouldn't be here and nearly impossible to get in if you have a legitimate reason. I'm speaking from first hand experience, and I can tell you, we need to clean house in our immigration offices.
"What's the difference between an illegal and a hooker?"
Orange county cops don't enfore Federal laws...
Fortunately, I don't have to retrain. When I said "the rest of us", I meant the untrained worker, not myself. I know lots of people in that position, and it's hardly fair that they must compete with ILLEGAL immigrants, some of whom get more benefits than they do.
But even if I did have to retrain, what would you suggest at age 50? And who would hire me?
Support the reelection of President Bush:

Workers dislocated by increased imports or a shift of production to certain foreign countries can receive support for: two years of training; income support; a Health Coverage Tax Credit covering 65% of the premium for qualified health insurance; and support to cover a portion of the costs of relocating a worker and their family to a new job. · Personal Reemployment Accounts: The Presidents $50 million proposal will provide workers with additional flexibility in selecting the services needed to help them return to work. Eligible unemployed workers can receive $3,000 to be used for whatever training and services, such as child care or transportation, they believe will help them get back to work. As an incentive, recipients can keep the balance of the account as a cash bonus if they find a job within 13 weeks. Thanks. I won't be needing training, but maybe someone else out there could use the info.
