Was it the Navel Reserves(USNR)?

Yes, and when Hanoi John returned from his few weeks incountry in Viet Nam he requested early release from active duty and returned to Active Reserve – but never attended any drills. It was while still an officer in the USNR that he conspired with the enemy in Canada and France, and gave aid and comfort to them as a leader of the VVAW.

Yeah...I don't understand why more people are not picking up on this point.

I was in the Korean War in Okinawa, Japan and (briefly) in Korea for 4 years in the USAF.

After I got out in '56...I got bored and joined the USNR as a JO1.

After 2 years and a couple of tin can "cruises" there was really nothing for me to do in the RI Reserve Center so I just stopped showing up.

I got an honorable discharge 4 years later because I HAD ALREADY DONE 4 YEARS ACTIVE in the USAF.

What's Kerry situation?
