On September 10, 2004, Dan Rather declared war on the internet. He shouldn't have because it's a battle he is destined to lose. Addressing only a small part of the hundreds of criticisms that web-based critics and assorted typewriter, font, and military experts have lodged against his report, Rather and his CBS colleagues seem to have a masochistic desire for punishment. Our latest updates on the Memogate controversy are posted below. For our 21-point rebuttal to Rather's Sept. 10 salvo, click here.
The unraveling continues. Two of the three people cited on-camera by CBS News as vouching for its conclusion that Jerry Killian--the former Air National Guard commanding officer of George W. Bush--authored incriminating memoranda about the future president have, in subsequent interviews with other media organizations, tempered their support for CBS.
Robert Strong, who served with Killian as an officer tells the New York Times that he does not believe that his former associate used a proportional font typewriter during his time in the Texas guard.
"Mr. Strong said in an interview Friday he was quite sure that he and others used Selectrics in the adjutant general's office. He added that he was not sure the typewriters and devices were also in the 147th Combat Support Squadron at the Ellington base in Houston, home of the 111th squadron.
"'I'm skeptical that Killian was working on that,' Mr. Strong said."
Strong's comments come on the heels of a statement from Marcel Matley, a writing analyst whom CBS presented as having certified its four documents. Interviewed by the Los Angeles Times, however, Matley said that he only vouched for one to the network.

If today, you were to walk into the TANG offices where these documents were supposedly produced, would you find a state of the art desktop running XP Professional? or, would you be more likely to find a three-four year old Compac or HP that might still be running 98?
Get my point?
The lefties were citing it as proof Bush was ordered toi take a physical. Since he didn't he disobeyed a direct order.
Wow,that guy is denial.
The fact that is on Fox talking about us proves we're effective.
QED
Exactly correct.
Occams razor:
In its simplest form, Occam's razor states that explanations should never multiply causes without necessity. When two explanations are offered for a phenomenon, the simplest full explanation is preferable. If a charred tree is on the ground, it could be because of a lightning strike or because of a secret government weapons program. The simplest explanation that is sufficient is the logical one, according to Occam's razor, and there was a lightning strike.
WARNING !!!! Freeping IS addictive!
Nam Vet
That's what's so hilarious about this whole farce..
even if the story were 100% true (which it is not), SO WHAT!
This isn't going to affect one vote and we knew this was inevitable when sKerry signed up the scum patrol to bolster his failed campaign.
Smacking Dan Rather down is an appropriate way of defending the homeland, IMO. His anti-America, pro-communist activities have been happening far too long.
Also..yesterday on Sean Hannity's radio show..he interviewed Killian's son (who was previously interviewed by CBS).
The son said his remarks (which were not what CBS wanted to hear) did not make it into the 60 minutes piece. Same thing with another guy and his mother.
Here's a very well-done page that explains and demonstrates that: http://peterduncan.net/CBS_Documents.html
......Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) is a science of vauge assumptions, based on debatable figures, taken from inconclusive experiments, performed with instruments of problematical accuracy, by persons of doubtful reliability and questionable mentality..............who pride themselves by knowing just how much C-4 to shove up a bulls ass to blow off his horns without making his eyes water.......
LOL... One couldn't help but be attracted to a job description like that!
I trust the American axiom that more is better was in force when determining the correct amount of C-4 for the job.
Pat Cadell is on FNC now ripping CBS about this memos .. saying since we know the memos didn't come from the family nor the petagon .. there is only one other place they could have come from
LOL!
LOL.........oooooooohhhhhhhhhh yes, they are. Trust me. Even the most brain-dead, tone-deaf people I have the pleasure of knowing are ALL over this story. It's everywhere. CBS is mud, and the genie is well out of the bottle on this one.
WELCOME TO FR! You'll love this site. Great insights and lots of humor. But have to warn you--its addictive.
heh heh..
like the new improved TX terminator, they'll have 'liquid type' that can remold itself to whatever scenario is required.
Nope. Look at page 16 here:
http://www.usatoday.com/news/bushdocs/10-2_2000_Personnel_File.pdf
That'a a legitimate doc with the same PO Box. I bet, though, if you superimpose that address header over one of the fake CBS docs, it's a match.
It's already in decline..
demise would be more appropriate.
Glad you're here.
James Rosen said on Fox yesterday that GWB tried to get into the program that would have sent him as a Guard flyer to Vietnam TWICE but that he was turned down because he didn't have enough flying hours.
