CYA was used but never written down. Do you know what it means?

I was talking about the other agency acronyms. But sure, I know what CYA means. It's like when you say goodbye to a friend, CYA dude. Or in some instances when some really fat person is laying on out at a nudest beach, they you would tell that person CYA. But one thing is for sure, you never CYA CYA on a CYA memo 'cause that is the surest way for someone to CYA you want to CYA and that would make no sense.

The point I was making, is enlisted may say CYA but not an officer. They are a Gentleman. They especially would not write it down. It is too crude for them to memorialize.

Sorry, I was just having a bit of fun before my morning coffee. I agree with you. No one actually writes CYA on a memo, even if it is a CYA memo. The whole thing reads like a high school hoax.

I think someone like Zach Exley is behind it.

CYA was commonly used in the computer room where I worked in 1974. My immediate supervisor and our department head were both ex-Airforce. We had backup tapes marked CYA. I believe the term was widely used in the military at the time Bush was in the Guard. However, it does seem odd that someone would type it on a memo. I cannot think of either of my Air Force trained bosses ever doing that...

A bit late, but welcome to Free Republic. If you are the least bit conservative you have come "home".

all the leftists have to do is sow doubt amongst the populace.

The "populace" has a limited attention span. We should hit them with our strongest arguments, and not bring up any that might have weaknesses.

If the left wants to sow doubt, let them try to argue with these 1973 documents being in the exact same format as an M.S. Word document on the default settings. Don't give them another argument to change the subject to.
