Massive airport shutdowns on the west coast. So far, the only thing I have heard on the local SD news is that communications is out up in Palmdale. LAX,Oakland,SD, major airports all shut down. No flights taking off at all. Flights enroute are being diverted.

Locally, I'm hearing they may have the problem fixed very soon but the backups at the airports are going to bog air traffic down for a long while.

Re: Airport "Radio" outage, later reported as a power outage, subsequent report "we don't know what caused the problem".

From what I hear Oakland and LA were affected.

I was in my car (in northern CA) before 7 pm and there was this weird loud continuous interference on the AM radio station I was listening to.

I am thinking it could be caused by sunspot activity.
