This may explain the hoax – the language is nearly identical to a hoax that was made a week ago.

Today’s threat 10-12

The email — suspected to have been sent from Germany — said in English: "Bomb to America". It then said in Dutch: "Flight SK3909 from Amsterdam to Chicago has a bomb for Iraq. America will see. Message for you".

RTV Noord Holland immediately alerted police after receiving the message at about midday. Flight SK 3909 flew above Ireland at 12.45pm.

Prior threat on 10-6

The first Olympic diversion was prompted by a call to an Athens newspaper.

"Flight 411 Olympic for America has a bomb for Iraq," a caller to the Ethnos daily said, according to a tape the newspaper made public. In a second call, a voice that sounded like a different person said, "Are you listening? Flight 411 Olympic for America, bomb. America will see.
