I am a frequent file-sharer on the Gnutella Network, the most popular Peer-To-Peer File Sharing network. For the most part, I share Political and Funny pictures as well as Political Videos, many written by Freeper Jmstein7, 911 pictures, real war pictures as well as some War On Terror videos (beheading videos, et. al) (Know thy enemy type of stuff)
I use a file-sharing client known as "Bearshare Pro", which is the "pay" version of this popular File Sharing Software.
Recently, I logged on to Bearshare and was startled to find out that the search page (Their own page) has a voter registration drive banner above an anti-Bush promotion of the "Slam Bush" video for the rapper, Wordsworth.
I wrote to Bearshare in an email this Tuesday to stop promoting Wordsworth in concert with it's voter registration banner. I threatened to discontinue my patronage of their pay software if they continued these actions.

Subject: Trouble with Bearshare Pro
Hello,
I am a loyal patron to your Bearshare Pro Gnutella Client and have been for over a year.
It has recently come to my attention that you are promoting the rapper, Wordsworth on your search site within Bearshare.
I was only made aware because it shows up on the first page in the search window PROMINENTLY below the "Your Vote Matters" voter registration drive banner.
I agree wholeheartedly with registering people to vote, irregardless of their opinions, party affiliation or whatever. However, promoting Wordsworth and his song "Slam Bush" amounts to what I would consider a partisan attack on a sitting president during a time of war by your company, and placing that below a voter registration banner looks like you are trying to register people to vote based on this propaganda.
This is unacceptable. I demand that you stop promoting Wordsworth or I will discontinue my patronage of your software when my registration period expires.
I understand that you can't control what shows up on the Gnutella network, but you can control what happens on your own pages.
So you know, I am withholding discussion of this issue on an Online forum, if no one else there has started one. I am a regular poster on FreeRepublic.com, the most visited Republican grass roots site on the internet. How you respond will be discussed on this forum with other members.
Sincerely,
Del

I received no reply to my first email, so this evening I shot off a 2nd email:

Hello again,
You have not responded to my below email to you written this Tuesday. The Ads that have not been removed on your own search pages still suggest a bias against President Bush.
I have no choice but to submit the fact that I haven't got a response from Bearshare on the online forum www.freerepublic.com
I am posting my letter with the facts as they stand.
www.freerepublic.com is responsible for exposing the fraud on falsified documents presented as fact on CBS 60 Minutes regarding President Bush's ANG Service. Perhaps you know of this story?
This story is revolutionary in the power of the grass-roots website, in which I am proud to be a member.
I am very disappointed in your company and intend to let my membership with Bearshare Pro expire, I will encourage other people to do so.
Sincerely,
Del
To say the least, I suggest that all Freepers to please email www.bearshare.com and express their opinions on this matter especially if you subscribe to their pay-version of the software.
TOPICS: Culture/Society; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: 60minutes; bearshare; filesharing; georgebush; wordsworth
This, I guess would be my first "Freep", any help and advice from others would be appreciated. Thanks.
