Let's hope al qaeda doesn't try to score another 9/11 in baghdad (or anywhere).

At least they weren't 'loud' explosions.

They would love to create a major blow in Iraq and put Bush's reelection in jeopardy.

loud enough to wake me up on my one day when i get a lie in...

still nowt serious. these reports are always filed "just in case". There are explosions every day but if the journos can't quite figure out whether they are just run of the mill mortars in the green zone they file an "explosions heard" in case it then turns out an attack with lots of civilian casualties.

There was a bomb outside the adventist church this morning, no casualties than God. A delightful family lives there and they were ok too. Though they have been having sat morning services there since the Aug 1 church attacks, they decided to cancel this one. It would have struck just as everyone was coming out and there would have been many casualties.

I think the word I'm looking for is providential.

LOL - actually, they were. They shook stuff kind of far off.

Hey, do you kow we have a Baghdad FR Chapter of sorts? I'll ping you to it. Some of us have managed to meet up in person here.

I'm planning to meet one of the Iraq FReepers in a few days. I've met up with another one here twice.
