Maybe more importantly, he is trying to get undecided voters and moderates to watch it -- he will get nowhere with this important constituency if he just echoes Hannity and Limbaugh in pushing the GOP platform. In the end, he will stand up for President Bush as the better candidate. As a base conservative Republican, he makes me nuts when he criticizes the President and the Swifties, but his role is to appeal to a different kind of voter, IMO.
You are exactly right. He has been soft on Kerry all week, even to the point of saying "I still would like to see him come talk with me" almost every time he mentioned Kerry's name.
Another thing he said this week was the Kerry would have a couple things to explain if he wanted to "earn" O'reillys vote. He has gone off the bend, IMO.
