I think it's stretch that after tonight the rest of the MSM will go hard after this story.
Dan Rather issued a circle the wagons plea I believe.

They can circle the wagons all they want - but they have just put another nail in the coffin of the MSM.

This little ploy will not play - it is a dead goose. Any more about it and we will just continue digging and find the truth ourselves.

Here's the information from Amazon on James Moore's book "Bush's War for Reelection...". Could this be Michael Moore's brother? In the summary:
Moore also includes a thorough rehash of the evidence for Bush’s apparent desertion from the National Guard during the Vietnam War, a dereliction that he contrasts with reminiscences of men who fought in Vietnam while the privileged Bush, he says, played hooky. From this heavy-handed counterpoint between muck-raking exposes and tear-jerking war stories emerges an indictment of a president who, Moore says, betrayed the soldierly ideals he now appropriates for political gain, for whom "duty, honor and service…were only words." Moore is a fine reporter and debunker, and marshals a compelling summation of the accusations surrounding Bush’s own war record and the seemingly fraudulent rationale for invading Iraq. Unfortunately, his fleeting analysis of the politics behind the war settles for simplistic assertions that it was all about oil. With so much of the book devoted to what Moore depicts as Bush’s scandalous perfidy, he never develops a cogent critique of the president’s policies.
This guy's got it out for Bush and Dan puts him up as a witness?! I'm still digging.

I don't think the MSM has enough wagons left to circle anything. They're all trying to save their own scalps. I don't think they will chance a total massacre just to save rather's butt.

I thought the same thing when I watched him. Right at the end, when he said (to the effect) that they are sticking to their story and no evidence has been presented thus far to refute it. It was the way he looked into the camera, as though he were telling his cocktail party friends and his handlers at the DNC that this was the plan.

As an aside - I have not had CBS News on in my house for at least ten years. I was kinda surprised at how awful he looked. Besides the sore throat from probably screaming all day - he just looked washed up. Definitely not the guy who my parents used to watch.
