Cuomo was popular during the economic boom of the 80's, but his popularity suffered in the early 90's recession and he was voted out in 1994. Being a governor and not a senator, Cuomo was held accountable by the voters for the state's problems. As terrible as The Witch is, I'd take her over Cuomo any day. As least The Witch says she supports the death penalty. I'd rate Cuomo as the more liberal of the two.
Cuomo's best shot was in 1988, not 1992. Unlike Clinton, Cuomo would not have appealed to moderates and Southerners.
