To: Buckhead

Buckhead, you know the Executive typewriter was a dodo bird from the start. Expensive. Clunky. IMPOSSIBLE to correct mistakes. Impossible to get serviced. We had one in my office, but nobody wanted to use it. I learned how to use it (one of the few to do so) but we had if for less than a year because of all the problems. I can't imagine a National Guard office springing for such a white elephant. So although the technology did exist, it was not widespread enough to be probable within that milieu.

what was the cost of that kind of typewriter??? Fred Barnes was talking about it but I missed the amount. I think he said either 2K or 20K.
