Something to Yak About Kerrys Iraq Position Shifts Like Windsurfing Off Nantucket Island Kerrys Iraq Plans Questioned New Staff Cant Cure Kerrys Political Charade Growing the Nanny State With Kerrys Department of Wellness? Talkers Profile Scott Hennen, WDAY/Fargo-Morehead The Final Yak
Saying that John Kerry has treated the issue of the war to oust Saddam Hussein, like a local sewer project, the Gentleman from Massachusetts was pummeled in an Oregonian opinion piece penned by Kerry on Iraq documentary viewer and associate editor David Reinhard. Maybe this is all agonizing nuance and complexity. Or maybe it's all just politics. Whatever the case, it's hardly the clear, consistent and principled presidential leadership we need in wartime, observes Reinhard.
An item in Fridays International Herald Tribune correctly notes that John Kerrys current position on Iraq is similar to the presidents, but all Kerry does is promise to do a better job. Simply promising that things will turn around under a new administration isn't enough, sayeth the op/ed.
A whole gaggle of former Bill Clinton aides is trying to bail out the sinking Kerry campaign operation, but any staff problems that may or may not exist pale compared to the problems with Kerry himself. In some elections, voters fall in love with a candidate. This time around, falling in love is just not possible, writes columnist Joan Vennochi. Sort of confirms what James Carville and Paul Begala said way back in 1992 its the candidate, stupid.
If this is John Kerrys idea of focusing more on domestic issues, it appears The Gang That Couldnt Spin Straight has laid another egg. The Washington Times Friday editorialized on Kerrys reported plan of establishing a Department of Wellness. It's not clear precisely what the Secretary of Wellness will do. But it's probably fair to expect that such a person will be a guardian of nanny-state liberalism, muses the WashTimes.

Kerry flip flops? Yeah, we noticed.
$200 billion for going-it-alone in Iraq, Kerry said. Thats the wrong choice; thats the wrong direction; and thats the wrong leadership for America. Its time to make it right.
Kerry will have us believe that a price can be placed on Liberty. That my childrens very existance isn't worth the 200 billion dollar price tag... I am sorry John but my family is priceless... I served 22 years in the military to protect the freedoms of americans... I will not stand idly by why you sell off those freedoms and even suggest that those freedoms have a price tag. Whatever it takes, whatever it costs. Why would you compare the cost of the war to promoting social programs that won't matter if we don't erraticate the terrorists.
