The credit card information is entered on the second screen. Once you select or enter the "Amount" of your donation, the "Frequency" (either "One-time" or "Monthly") and "Method" and enter your email address, click on "Continue".
As for a debit card, if it's a Visa debit, I would assume that it would work like a credit card, but Jim or John could tell you for sure.
