One of the things said against Bush is that he's closing VA hospitals, presumably to leave vets out in the snow. But these closures stem from a study commissioned during the Clinton administration which recommended an overhaul of the VA infrastructure to improve service to veterans. They are closing underutilized and obsolute hospitals to get veterans into modern facilities closer to home, but critics are making it sound like a Bush scheme to shaft veterans.
