Someone else said it, so I'm not taking credit here, but I just think it's golden to remember that these documents were being saved by the Kerry campaign until the last week of the campaign! The ONLY reason they were dumped on CBS now is because Kerry's tanking. If these had been saved until October 30, there would not have been time to discover and get the forgery out there before the election.

I believe you are right. However, I'm not so sure they won't try something desperate the last week of the campaign anyway. They did it with the DUI allegation in 2000. They will surely do it again. I don't now what they might be holding back, but Sasso, Carville, and Begala could easily come up with a serial nun murder or puppy-skinning allegation by then.
