Hasn't been taught in journalism schools for decades. What DO they teach?

My daughter is an Honors Media Fellow (fine program, too) at a formerly-conservative Midwestern small University.

They teach that

1) The media has a strong conservative bias.
2) Although they encourage free thinking, their minds are closed. She has had serious seminar theses returned ungraded with instructions to "view the material again so that you can come to the correct conclusion."

I kid you not - I have seen the comment!

I believe it. I had an paper come back one time with a hand written note on the cover page "No grade. Too conservative. Rewrite."

I walked up to the teacher and said "Grade this". He gave me a C.
