"Post 47 Reporting for Duty!!"
TV Channel 54 Fri Sep 10 06:07:07 2004 documents front page stuff yesterday in "the new york times" of course today the follow-up story buried way in the back there's a real good chance that those documents regarding president bush's service in the texas air national guard could be forgeries.
>> You are talking about lieutenant colonel killian who passed away in 1984. He was commanding officer for george W. Bush then. Then lieutenant bush. He said in these memo ifs you ought to believe these are authentic he's being pressured to sugarcoat george bush's record young george's record because higher-ups because he's so politically connected he feels this pressure but wrote up this memo has very detailed account where is george bush fell short when he was under his command. However, there's something about these documents that doesn't smell right to the colonel's widow and his son.
>> They are on the offensive. Let's start with the widow. She says her husband thought president bush was an excellent aviator. He had good things to say about the president. Also the wording in the documents according to this lieutenant colonel killian's ex wife is -- or wife.
>> Marjorie.
>> She says that they are not her husband's work. He wouldn't have said things like that. He was a guy that didn't take notes. He wasn't a typer he would keep things in his mind he wasn't a cope yus note taker.
>> Look at the noepts themselvess this dshg themg -- themselves apparently -- even though cbs said we had a number of document experts look at it apparently that document according to number of experts looks as if it was generate bade microsoft word software program. Of course there was no microsoft word back in 1970. Some of the different things the way that every letter is proportional back in the day. For instance back in the '70 as typewriter the letter i would take up the same amount of space as the letter M. In this particular document it's all -- it is nice and neat the way microsoft does it. Also after 111, the number, there is a little th, that's something that microsoft word does automatically. It would have been impossible to do back in the '70s.
>> Now the colonel's son was a captain in the national guard. He said that this is just not something an officer would do. His wife says this whole thing is a farce. Because he says it's not something an officer would do. Why would you do that put it in a memo and save it? I think there's going to be another chute to fall in this in that colonel's wife is remarried and says they just switched houses because they switched house as lot of their stuff is spread out in between. She is going all their stuff. Not only does she think her husband thought that. They think hand-written notes would go against this. What's happening at cbs if you believe the drudge report dan rather is shell-shocked right now as they try to find out authenticity of it. Cbs spokes people yesterday said we are fine we love our sources. One source says we talked to someone who knew the lieutenant colonel. That's exactly how he felt.
>> Uh-huh.
>> They also won't name the experts who claim this is authentic. They said they did have somebody look for authenticity and go through these papers they won't say -- they won't say who it is.
>> According to drudge report cbs has launched an internal investigation to find out exactly whether or not these are actual documents, but the big question is in the event that it is revealed these these documents are forgeries, are phonies, will cbs then reveal who they got these documents from? Because clearly whoever they got them from, made them up.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> What about ben barnes? Some interesting storys there.
>> Have you been listening to the radio there? A a little bit because I'm a big fan of monica crowley. Former lieutenant ben barnes said i regret using my pull to get then george bush just graduated from college into the national guard instead of sending him over to vietnam. I used my pull doing that. I really regret doing that. It turns out this story is being debunked by none other than ben barnes's daughter who says quote i love my dad but this is not the story he told me in 2000 when all this stuff came out he said he did nothing to get george bush in the national guard.
>> She said he's doing this for political reasons he is a kerry fund-raiser and writing a book and this is all going back to politics.
>> Recap document experts say that the papers are forgeries. The guys widow who supposedly wrote it said he's not a paper prn. His son says well one of the documents looks like it could be real, the rest look phony. And also the guy who ran the personnel department, the personnel chief says he thinks dan rather fell for a hoax. His quote is they look like forgerys to me. I don't think killian would do that, and i knew him for 17 years.
>> Wow interesting. 11 minutes past the top of the hour
How many hotel rooms are there in Travis County Texas?
good post
FOX RULES!
Female DNC spokesmouth on FNC seems to think that the forgeries will make the American people hate W
"Its the Bush campaign that keeps bringing us back to the past, its the Kerry campaign that wants to talk about the issues"
I just busted a gut
Unfortunately the CBS morning show is standing by their story still. Scrolling across the bottom of the screen even is a blurb in the news about Bushs Guard Record with no mention of the bogus documents.
BTTT
She sure came off as sleazy and uncomfortable. "If you can't dazzle them with facts, baffle them with bullsh!t"
I caught that too. No one pointed out to her that some of these docs (if not all) supposedly were taken from Lt. Killian's 'private' file...which his widow denies.
Female DNC spokesmouth on FNC seems to be completele delusional.
funny! When they get caught , they start talking about they want to talk about the future. Interesting, the only past they wanta talk about is GWB's past until they are caught then they look to the future! I noted she mentioned FOIA,,she slipped that in.
Will be wonderful to watch all the tortured, squirming dems as the day goes on.
