(CNSNews.com) - The White House says the Kerry campaign is "coordinating" the attacks on President Bush's National Guard record, just as the Kerry campaign accused the Bush administration of coordinating with the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth."You absolutely are seeing a coordinated attack by John Kerry and his surrogates on the president," White House press secretary Scott McClellan was quoted as saying on Thursday.
"The polls show Senator Kerry falling behind, and it's the same old recycled attacks that we've seen every time the president has been up for election."
McClellan's comments drew a huffy response from former Clinton spokesman Joe Lockhart, who is newly arrived at the Kerry campaign:
"Mr. McClellan seems to have lost his cool. Rather than deal with real issues with real candor, Mr. McClellan is resorting to hurling nonsensical, inaccurate and baseless charges at the Kerry campaign," Lockhart said in a statement.
"Making matters worse, Mr. McClellan's own words defending the president were doctored by an unseen hand within the government to help clarify the administration's position on the questions about George Bush's veracity.
"We should not be surprised that this White House thinks it can change a transcript as easily as it changes its story. [As CNSNews.com reported on Thursday, there are questions about whether someone - a Kerry supporter? -- faked documents used by CBS to criticize George W. Bush's National Guard service.]
Lockhart accused McClellan of engaged in a classic political tactic: "When you can't tell the truth or you don't know the truth, blame your opponent."
So, this is why the Kerry keeps telling us, "It's Bush's Fault'.

Straight from the Democrats playbook.
I'm sure the NY Times will have a "Six Degrees of Paul Begala" type flowchart connecting the memo to the Kerry campaign REEEEEEEEEEEAL soon.
"Mr. McClellan seems to have lost his cool"
That line sounds very familiar.....
This will make an excellent commercial...
Have it start off with the Dems saying this.... then show the Dems blaming Bush for everything.
Hey, does anyone know where there is a documented list of all the negative attacks on Bush. From Al Gore saying "he betrayed this country" and all the others?
I was just curious if there was a simplified list of all the negative BS that the left has been spewing since their sore-losing in the 2000 election.
If anyone knows of a link, please post?
BTW, what has the NYPOST.com done to their site? Is it spyware? I am a Long Islander, and I have always liked the post, but now, the online edition is all messed up :(
Here's our compilation of Rather's attacks on both Bush 41 and Bush 43:

Making false claims against a political opponent in order to try and swing an election and the using the duplicity of the press to do it is a criminal act... This issue needs a full accounting... Oh maybe Sandy Berger got these memos from his pants???
He was FOR the coordination of attacks before he was against it....
Joe Lockhart is insane. What does his statement mean.
Chris Wallace on Fox talking about the forged documents.
This stuff came directly from McAwful and the DNC. I know it did because they kept bringing this stuff up during the campaign and we were wondering why they were bringing up something that was so irrelevant. This was what they were waiting for and it backfired on them BIG TIME.
Put a stake in Kerry's campaign. It is done!!!!!
(Joe)Lockhart accused McClellan of engaged in a classic political tactic: "When you can't tell the truth or you don't know the truth, blame your opponent." Love that last paragraph. A fine example of the pot calling the kettle black.
