This is the best opportunity possible to bring pressure to CBS to fire Dan Rather for his conflicts of interest and malfeasance in disseminating the Killian forgeries.

Having Rather be axed by CBS is probably the best way at present to take Kerry's anti-GWB ANG talking points away from him so as to help GWB win a second term. There is much justification for doing this and little possibility of Republicans being regarded as being partisan for demanding that Rather get pink slipped by CBS.
