If CBS admits that they got these documents from the Kerry campaign, then two really neat things happen.

The first is that the idea that the Kerry campaign forges documents enters the zeitgeist. People start to wonder what other documents the Kerry campaign might have forged. The Lehman commendation? The DD-214 with the Silver Star with 'V'? It might take a lot of popcorn to watch all the fun this could cause.

The second is that the media being in the tank for Kerry becomes impossible to deny. Here CBS News has literally taken documents from the Kerry campaign and promoted them as "news," with an obvious intent to smear Bush. The media's credibility takes another mighty blow.

This is almost too good to be true.

Would not CBS revealing the source be against MSM rules? I don't expect that to happen, particularly if it would tarnish Kerry. When in doubt, side with the liberal.

I'm also wondering if another neat thing will happen. Forging military records isn't exactly on par with jaywalking. There are legal ramifications of forging government documents, especially with such a clear intent to decieve.

The source of these documents can and should at a minimum be exposed, if not prosecuted.

You'll need a lot more than popcorn--how about all-out tailgate party instead? ;-)

And I can't wait for the blogosphere and FreeRepublic to rip Kitty Kelley's new book to confetti and smaller pieces next week. :-)

Lets not forget Pitkin coming out saying he was made to say things in his testamony that wasn't true. What or who made Barnes say the things he's said and why? His own daughter doesn't believe him.

How about this - this was Hillary's October Surprized designed to sink W at the last moment. But the Kerry campaign is in such desperate shape that it fired off the nuclear option now rather than wait.

You are right. The possibility here is that Kerry has taken the MSM down and his campaign all in one day.

They CAN'T be that dumb, can they?

"This is almost too good to be true."

It's pretty funny that CBS and, apparently, the kerry campaign could step right into a mile-high mountain of extra stinky doo doo like this. Rather must have thought he could put this one over without a hitch. Now that is arrogance. He could give even kerry lessons.

IANAL - I wonder if a provable DNC-CBS link might also be useful in establishing the 'malicious intent' element that's needed for a 'public figure' like GWB to successfully sue for libel.
