CBS, that bastion of the Old Media, just can't adapt to the new realities. In the old days, their use of a forgery would have "passed" for months, until after the election at least. They just can't grasp the real-time fact checking and analysis done by thousands of freepers and bloggers with access to all of the source information.

That's why I call Free Republic the world's first and greatest conservative "virtual think tank."

This has certainly been an interesting day.

If CBS is so stupid that they can be duped that easily, by such obvious forgeries, they don't deserve to exist any more as a serious news source.

Possibly a case of not being quite as clever as they have been telling themselves they are.

Since these are falsified military document a full investigation should begin immediately....WHo emailed them to whom. WHo's finger prints are on the documents etc....
