PROVING Bush broke direct orders and violated reg's deliberately! I've been pondering on one thing all day: why? Why would they do this.
I think you may be very close to the reason; the AWOL didn't work; the "he missed weekends" didn't work. So all that was left was his honor, integrity, character, and truthfulness.
