Roy Horn describes mauling in special (Weekend at Bernies 3)

LAS VEGAS -- Roy Horn has never spoken publicly about being mauled nearly fatally by a 380-pound white tiger named Montecore.

So when NBC airs the special "Siegfried & Roy: The Miracle" at 8 p.m. Wednesday (WTHR, ), viewers will hear Horn for the first time and see his battle to regain his motor skills after the attack and subsequent stroke left him in a wheelchair.

I'm watching it right now. Leave it to NBC to turn it into a replusive melodrama. It's so over the top. I'm watching it only because I want to know what happened to Roy. But it really is too much. It's got the dramatic music, the tense drumbeats -- sheesh! WHY?

Why not just a straightforward account?
