My husband left us for his true love when my kids were 4, 7, 8. I went to school, got an engineering degree, and worked my tail off to provide a home for my kids, and no child support. I did have babysitting help from my family. It was welfare or doing something. It took 5 years to get my degree, but I did it. I took the do something route. She is the simplistic one. Not everyone can opt to stay home. Until the divorce laws are changed, anyone at any time for any reason can get a divorce. I chose to do something instead of wallow in misery.
