KERRY-AOKE
Kerry Dean-ies Singing
Howard's Anti-War Tune
___________________________________________________________

KERRY BORROWS DEAN'S "WRONG WAR
AT WRONG TIME" CRITICISM OF IRAQ WAR

Kerry Monday:"It's The Wrong War In The Wrong Place At The Wrong Time."(Mary Dalrymple, "Kerry Wants To Try To Pull Troops Out Of Iraq Within Four Years," The Associated Press, 9/6/04)

Kerry Wednesday Denied Borrowing Dean's Criticism Of The War. "Later, in Rochester, Minn., Mr. Kerry denied that he had used Dr. Dean's critique of Mr. Bush's handling of the war. 'I don't think I borrowed anything; that's a phrase that I've used,' Mr. Kerry told an interviewer from the Minneapolis NBC affiliate, KARE." (David M. Halbfinger, "Kerry Says Bush Broke His Word In Pursuing War On Iraq," The New York Times, 9/9/04)

March 2003: Dean Said Iraq War Was "Wrong War At The Wrong Time."  "It is our patriotic duty to say to the president, 'We wish our troops well. We hope they get home safely and soon, but Mr. President, we think this war is a mistake,' … This is the wrong war at the wrong time."  (Christopher Graff, "Howard Dean Says He Will Back Troops, But Not War Policies," The Associated Press, 3/17/03)

IF HE DIDN'T BORROW IT FROM DEAN, MAYBE HE BORROWED IT FROM …

Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV). "Saddam's capture does nothing to justify the war, said Senator Robert Byrd in a speech … at the December 14 Nation Institute dinner: 'As each day passes and as more American soldiers are killed and wounded in Iraq, I become ever more convinced that the war in Iraq was the wrong war at the wrong time in the wrong place for the wrong reasons.'"  (Editorial, "Saddam's Inglorious End," The Nation, 1/5/04)

Political Mentor Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA). '"I have felt right from the beginning this was the wrong war at the wrong time,' [Ted] Kennedy told the media following a Sept. 18 visit to the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center in Natick. 'I never believed that Iraq posed an imminent threat to the national security of the United States.'  The senior senator from Massachusetts – who went on to call the Iraq war a 'fraud' and accuse Bush of 'bribing' foreign nations – was summarily drubbed by Republicans."  (Cosmo Macero, Jr., "The Wrong Words, The Wrong Time," Boston Herald, 9/26/03)

Former Opponent Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH).  '"I think this was the wrong war at the wrong time,' Kucinich said."  (Wayne Washington, "Democrats Spar In Primary Debate," The Boston Globe, 5/5/03)

Former Rep. Robert Drinan (D-MA).   '"The opposition of the former members of Congress here is based on moral, religious and strategic reasons,' said former Rep. Robert Drinan. 'It is the wrong war at the wrong time and for the wrong reasons.'"  (Calvin Woodward, "Weekend Protests Spurred By The Approach Of Conflict With Iraq," The Associated Press, 3/15/03)

MAYBE SEPTEMBER '04 KERRY SHOULD LISTEN TO DECEMBER '03 KERRY

Kerry Blasted Dean For Saying US Not Safer With Saddam's Capture. "To Dr. Dean's assertion in a Los Angeles speech on Monday that the capture of Mr. Hussein had not made the nation safer, Mr. Kerry had a blunt retort. 'Those who doubted whether Iraq or the world would be better off without Saddam Hussein,' he said, 'and those who believe today that we are not safer with his capture, don't have the judgment to be president or the credibility to be elected president.'" (David M. Halbfinger, "Kerry Says Dean Lacks Presidential Traits," The New York Times, 12/17/03)

It's so simple...Kerry was in favor of the "good" part of the war, but voted against the "bad" part of the war.

And one other thing..are you questioning his patriotism??

This is the cover of former presidential candidate Howard Dean (news - web sites)'s book, 'You Have The Power.' In the book, centrist Democrats get much of the blame for allowing the 'radical right' to rise to national power. And he blames reporters and editors for failing to 'hold politicians and themselves accountable.' The 188-page book published by Simon & Schuster is due to be released Sept. 27. (AP Photo)
